Presentation

  • About the School La Fémis (Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Métiers de l’Image et du Son) is the French state film school under the responsibility of the Ministry of Culture and Communication. It is funded by the CNC (France’s National Centre of Cinematography and the Moving Image).
  • Management The School is governed by a board whose Chair is appointed by decree. The School is managed by a General Director also appointed by decree and the School’s operations are organised into four main departments.
  • The students Students of French nationality hail from every region in the country (two-thirds of students admitted took their baccalauréat outside of Paris). 15% of students come from outside France.   • Facilities La Fémis is based in premises of almost 10,000 square metres of which the largest section houses a complete film studio. The studio is fully kitted out with the essential filmmaking equipment.
